Infrastructure – one of the school’s strengths

The Saigon College of Arts, Culture and Tourism (Saigon ACT) has been evaluated as one of non-public schools with the most powerful facilities in Ho Chi Minh City as well as in the country.

Saigon ACT, a non-public school, has officially received the Education and Training Minister’s Decision for the establishment since  October 17, 2006.

During early years, the school has aimed to train qualified students focused in the fields of Culture, Arts, Tourism and Economics, with professional knowledge, professional ethics and adaptability, creativity in the integration- competition trend,  to meet the increasing needs of human resource in Ho Chi Minh City and the country.

Accordingly, the school has invested in developing the infrastructure. So far, the school’s two campuses have been in operation, with the training capacity of 15,000 - 17,000 students; ,including many classrooms, practice rooms and spacious library to meet students’  learning and research needs.

The school’s Campus 1 is located at 83/1 Phan Huy Ich Street, Ward, Go Vap District, covering an area of ​​about 9,000 m2, cosisting of a 6-storey building, and spacious dormitories which have come into operation since November, 2008. All the theoretical rooms have been airy, equipped with sound system, projectors and other modern facilities .

The school’s Campus 2 is situated at 53/1 Phan Van Hon Street, Tan Thoi Nhat Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City. The total building area is 22,500 m2. The campus has come into effect since May, 2013, and currently been the main campus of the school.

 Besides the classroom, the school has built more practice rooms with modern facilities for each faculty:

- Faculty of Tourism: the system of  4-star restaurant – hotel has been built: 16 rooms, 2 bars, 1 kitchen; currently the school has been continued to build practice rooms for convalescent tourism and resort with the total building area of ​​1,000 m 2.

- Faculty of Arts, Industrial Final Art: equipped with 3 piano practice rooms, 2 drawing rooms, 2 tailoring rooms, 3 stages  and a hall, 2 sewing rooms, in other words, totally 13 practice rooms with the area of 700 m2.

- Faculty of Economics: including 6 practice rooms with the total area of 300 m2, for students specialised in Business Administration, Finance and Banking, Accounting, publication release.

- Faculty of Foreign Languages: fully equipped with audio-visual labs, projector-equipped room, and 2 practice rooms for Korean-majored students,  full of textbooks and reference materials funded by KOICA with an area of ​​180m2.

The school also has other campuses Nha Be District,  Tan Binh District, and District 7 and some practice places for convalescent tourism, hospitality services. The School’s library has 11,418 book titles for various needs of teachers, staff and students. Besides, a travel agency, SOTA restaurant-hotel system, film production company, etc. under the control of the school have been in operation efficiently, and is the most convenient environment for students  to practice and get a salary at the school.

In addition, Saigon ACT has equipped other facilities for entertainment, sports such as recreational room , stages, pool, volleyball court, etc.

The school’s modern dormitory has the capacity of more than 1,800 students to help students from rural areas reduce the cost of living. Accordingly, each student is equipped with a desk, a bookshelf, a bed and a wardrobe.3-4 students live in a room. Each room has a private toilet area, especially is equipped with a water heater. At the dormitory, there has been a volleyball court, table-tennis tables, etc.

With these achievements, Saigon ACT has been considered as one of non-public schools with the strongest facilities in Ho Chi Minh City as well as in the country. In the future, the school will build 2 more campuses to meet the school’s growing needs: Campus 3: has been expected to be built as the main campus of Saigon University of Arts, Culture and Tourism after receiving the Decision for the upgradation of Saigon ACT at zone I-II of North West Urban Zone, Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City. Campus 4: will be constructed as the Center of Defense Education and Physical Education at 73 / 479A Phan Huy Ich Street, Ward 12, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City with the total building area of 14,091 m2.

That the school will be upgraded to a university marks a turning point in accomplishing its missions: training students to be citizens with professional knowledge and competence in the fields of culture, arts, tourism and economics; with knowledge, professional ethics, adaptability, and creativity in the context of competition and integration, meeting the needs of human resources in Ho Chi Minh city and the whole country.

The infrastructure, teaching and learning facilities have been considered as a prerequisite among numerous factors affecting traing quality of a school. With spacious infrastructure, and modern facilities, the Saigon College of Arts, Culture and Tourism has bee considered one of non-public schools with the most powerful facilities in Ho Chi Minh City as well as throughout the country.
